  1. i started out as a “prep cook” by force because my grandmother would make me chop onions and bell peppers and freeze them for the holiday. she would make me de bone meat, stir the soups, and chili’s, check on the dishes in the oven, and all kinds of kitchen jobs. at first i hated it then i started to enjoy the time i spent with her and how happy it made her to have me around to help. then i started really cooking and always loved it. i remember when i finally made an omelette. i ate them every day for weeks. then i graduated from high school and did not really think about becoming a chef. i became a therapy aide to support myself and my kid.
